The New York Mets

No Small Affair, in conjunction with the New York Mets organization, developed baseball outings at Shea Stadium, which became the cornerstone of the Foundation’s activities.

Every summer, hundreds of needy and deserving children are treated to a few days and nights at the ballpark.  Each baseball outing features a cookout, snacks, souvenirs, an appearance by a Mets player, and, of course, the game itself.

During the program’s first three years, former Mets star relief pitcher Roger McDowell was significantly involved with his “Roger’s Rooters” program. That was followed by star third baseman Dave Magadan and his “Magsmania-It’s A Hit” promotion, which also generated corporate gifts to the Foundation. Since then, various Met players have given their time and effort to the organization.  Programs like these are yet another example of how the New York Mets and No Small Affair have creatively joined forces to “pitch a perfect game” for disadvantaged children.
